Data Management

TU’s Information Governance program consists of data privacy and data management processes, procedures, standards and technologies that provide a holistic approach to protecting and managing data.

Data privacy and data management work together and are both underpinned by Information Security standards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, privacy and quality of data throughout its lifecycle, from creation to destruction.

  • Data privacy operations focus on data subject access rights, data usage and data loss prevention.
  • Data management focuses on ensuring quality of data and secure movement of data.

The Office of Information Security provides guidance and requirements on how to safely use and handle data, who is responsible for TU data and how to determine data type at TU.
